Solanki, who represented the Kadi Assembly constituency in Mehsana district, was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ahmedabad, where he breathed his last. His final rites are set to take place later today in his native village, Nagarasanin Kadi taluka.
A two-time MLA, Solanki won from the Kadi Assembly seat, which is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, in both 2017 and 2022.
Expressing his grief over Solanki’s demise, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel paid tribute to the late legislator. In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Patel stated,
"Condolences on the demise of Karshanbhai Solanki, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA of Kadi Legislative Assembly. He will always be remembered for his simple and gentle nature. May God rest his soul in peace and give strength to his family and supporters to bear this pain."
Several Gujarat BJP leaders, including state party chief C.R. Paatil, also condoled Solanki's passing, acknowledging his contributions to public service and the party.
His demise marks a significant loss for the political landscape of Gujarat, particularly for the BJP, which he loyally served.
