Fatal Explosion Causes Building Collapse Near Deesa Town​


At least seven workers lost their lives after a devastating explosion triggered a massive blaze and led to the collapse of portions of a firecracker factory building in Gujarat's Banaskantha district on Tuesday, officials reported.


The tragic incident occurred at a firecracker manufacturing unit situated in an industrial area close to Deesa town.


Rescue Operations Ongoing Amid Rubble​


According to preliminary information provided by Sub Divisional Magistrate Neha Panchal, the explosion sparked a severe fire, causing structural damage and resulting in several workers becoming trapped under the debris.


Banaskantha Superintendent of Police Akshayraj Makwana confirmed the fatalities, stating, "As many as seven workers have died in the incident, and the operation is underway to remove the rubble and rescue those trapped."


Firefighters from the Deesa municipality successfully extinguished the blaze. Meanwhile, rescue efforts are actively underway, with emergency responders carefully working through the collapsed building to locate and free any remaining individuals.


SDRF Deployed to Assist Rescue Efforts​


To accelerate rescue operations and manage the crisis effectively, a specialized team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been deployed to the incident site, supporting local emergency personnel in their critical rescue work.


Authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of the explosion and further investigations are underway.
