Wade Returns to GT Dugout in New Coaching Role

Former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade has been appointed as the new assistant coach of Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

Wade, who previously represented Gujarat Titans as a player during the 2022 and 2024 IPL seasons, was not part of the recent IPL mega auction after announcing his retirement from international cricket.

Expressing excitement about Wade's appointment, Gujarat Titans shared on social media platform X:

"Champion. Fighter. Now our Assistant Coach! Welcome back to the GT Dugout, Matthew Wade!"

Wade's IPL Journey and Contributions

Matthew Wade played a total of 15 IPL matches in his career, with 12 of those appearances coming for Gujarat Titans. Notably, Wade was an integral member of the Titans' squad that secured the IPL title in their debut season under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya in 2022.

His experience as a wicketkeeper-batter will be invaluable to the team’s strategic planning and training sessions.
