Man Went Missing Last Week, Car Found Abandoned in Delhi; Traced Living in a Dharmshala
New Delhi, May 16 – A 42-year-old manager employed with a Gurgaon-based multinational IT company, who mysteriously went missing last week, has been found alive in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. According to Delhi Police, the man had allegedly staged his disappearance in an attempt to escape mounting financial liabilities. The case took a dramatic turn when his car was discovered abandoned and unlocked near a drain in southwest Delhi’s Kakrola area, prompting fears that he may have jumped into the water body. A police control room (PCR) call had alerted authorities about the vehicle, following which an extensive search and rescue operation was launched involving the fire department and other emergency services.
As the investigation progressed, officials uncovered that the man had deliberately formatted his mobile phone a day before vanishing, raising red flags about the circumstances of his disappearance. Tracking efforts eventually led police to a dharmshala (pilgrim lodging) in Ayodhya, where the man was found living in concealment.
During interrogation, the man confessed that he was facing severe financial distress and had faked his disappearance in a desperate attempt to evade his debts, a police officer confirmed.
Authorities have initiated further legal proceedings in the matter.
