Gwalior, February 8 A man, allegedly intoxicated, allegedly shot and killed his wife in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, after she refused to cook food due to illness, a police official said on Sunday. The incident occurred at 11 pm on Saturday, according to Murar Circle City Superintendent of Police Atul Soni, who spoke to reporters here. "Sonu Tomar (45) arrived home in an inebriated state and asked his wife to cook, which she refused due to illness. An angry Tomar then shot her and left the house. The couple's 14-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, as well as the accused's parents, were all present at home at the time," the CSP said. After being alerted by the accused's father, a police team along with forensic science laboratory (FSL) personnel reached the scene, he said. "Tomar was taken into custody after he returned home following a drinking session in Bajaria. He has claimed that he has discarded the firearm somewhere. Efforts are underway to recover it. Tomar is an alcoholic, and his background is being checked to see if he has a criminal record," the official added.
