Chandigarh, March 2, 2025 – Voting is underway across Haryana for the election of mayors and ward members in seven municipal corporations, along with elections for several municipal councils and committees, officials confirmed.
Polling began at 8 AM and will conclude at 6 PM.
Vote counting will begin at 8 AM on March 12, 2025, and results will be declared the same day.

Key Municipal Corporations in Focus
Polling is being conducted to elect mayors and ward members in the municipal corporations of Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal, and Yamunanagar. Additionally, by-elections for the mayoral posts in Ambala and Sonipat are taking place.Polling began at 8 AM and will conclude at 6 PM.
Local Body Elections: Municipal Councils & Committees
- Elections are also being held for the presidents and all ward members of four municipal councils: Ambala Sadar, Pataudi Jatoli Mandi, Thanesar, and Sirsa.
- A bye-election for the president’s post in Sohna (Gurugram district) is also being held.
- Similarly, voting is taking place for presidents and ward members of 21 municipal committees.
- Bye-elections for president's posts in Assandh (Karnal district) and Ismailabad (Kurukshetra district) are also in progress.

- Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation – Ward No. 9
Polling Method & Vote Counting Schedule
The elections are being conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Meanwhile, polling for the Panipat municipal corporation is scheduled for March 9, 2025.Vote counting will begin at 8 AM on March 12, 2025, and results will be declared the same day.
