Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, March 7: A devastating fire broke out at a polythene manufacturing factory in Sadabad town, Hathras district, in the early hours of Friday, leaving one person dead and two others critically injured.
The blaze erupted around 1 am at the factory, which produces polythene items and is located near the busy Chaudhary Charan Singh Tiraha intersection. Firefighters and police teams quickly arrived on the scene after receiving emergency calls, working intensively to bring the situation under control.
Dharmendra Chaudhary (38), a resident of Mirpur village, tragically lost his life after being engulfed by flames. Chaudhary, who ran a shop adjacent to the factory, had reached the location after being alerted about the fire.
Two others, identified as Bhupendra Singh (25) and Pradeep Kumar (22), sustained severe burn injuries. They were initially taken to Sadabad Community Health Centre but, given the critical nature of their injuries, both were later referred to a higher medical facility for advanced treatment.
Sadabad fire station in-charge Deepak Kumar said, "We received information about the fire around 1 am. It was quickly controlled, but unfortunately, one person was found deceased. Two individuals were seriously injured and immediately hospitalized."
Local sources confirmed that the factory is owned by an individual named Gautam but is officially registered in his wife's name.
