Amaravati, April 2 — The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a heatwave warning for 30 mandals across the state on Wednesday, urging residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures.
The APSDMA continues to monitor weather patterns closely and advises the public to stay hydrated, avoid exposure during peak afternoon hours, and follow safety guidelines during heatwave conditions.
Districts Under Heatwave Watch
According to the APSDMA, the following districts are expected to be impacted by heatwave conditions:- Srikakulam: 6 mandals
- Vizianagaram: 5 mandals
- Alluri Sitarama Raju: 5 mandals
- Parvathipuram Manyam: 11 mandals
- Kakinada: 1 mandal
- East Godavari: 2 mandals
Scattered Rains in Southern Andhra Pradesh
Despite the heatwave alert, some relief is expected in the form of scattered light rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in Sri Sathya Sai and Chittoor districts, also forecasted for Wednesday.Temperature Highlights Across the State
On Tuesday, several locations recorded soaring temperatures:- Ulindakonda (Kurnool) and Nelivada (Vizianagaram) topped the chart with 39.8°C
- Vempalle (YSR Kadapa) followed with 39.5°C
- Rudravaram (Nandyal) saw 39.2°C
- Ravikamatham (Anakapalli) and Nagasamudram (Anantapur) both registered 39.0°C
Water Storage Update
