Himachal CM Condoles Soldier's Death in Cross-Border Shelling

Shimla, May 10 – Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday expressed deep condolences over the death of Subedar Major Pawan Kumar of the 25 Punjab Regiment, who was killed in cross-border shelling by the Pakistan Army in Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the day.

The soldier hailed from Shahpur Nagar Panchayat in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

In a statement issued from the Chief Minister's Office, Sukhu paid tribute to Kumar's supreme sacrifice, emphasizing that the brave soldier gave his life in the line of duty to uphold the unity and sovereignty of the nation. "His bravery and devotion will always be remembered," Sukhu stated.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government stands firmly with the bereaved family and will provide all necessary assistance during this difficult time. He also offered prayers for the departed soul and strength to the family to cope with the immense loss.
