Himachal Pradesh Board Exams Postponed in Snow-hit Regions

The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has postponed the examinations scheduled from March 4 in the snow-affected remote areas of Pangi in Chamba district and Lahaul-Spiti due to heavy snowfall and rainfall, which severely damaged roads and routes, hindering the transport of exam materials.

Exams for classes 8 to 12 in these affected areas will now commence after March 8, subject to improvement in weather and logistical conditions. Revised exam dates will be announced soon.

However, examinations in the rest of Himachal Pradesh will continue as per the original schedule, starting from March 4.

Approximately 1.95 lakh students will appear for Class 10 and 12 exams this year across 2,300 examination centers—an increase from last year's 2,250 centers. Additional flying squads from various administrative levels will be deployed alongside the board's own teams to ensure a fair and cheating-free examination process.

Further updates regarding the revised schedule for the affected regions will be communicated based on the evolving weather conditions and logistical improvements.
