New Delhi, March 1: Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) reported a 21% decline in total sales for February 2025, with 10,323 units sold compared to 13,078 units in the same month last year.
Breaking down the numbers, domestic sales stood at 5,616 units, while exports reached 4,707 units. This marks a drop from 7,142 domestic sales and 5,936 exports recorded in February 2024, according to an official statement from the company.
Market Challenges Impacting Sales
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at HCIL, acknowledged the challenging market conditions affecting the auto industry. He noted a slowdown in car registrations and difficulties in generating fresh demand compared to the previous year."The market conditions have been challenging for the auto industry, where we saw reduced momentum in car registrations and difficulties in creating fresh demand during February as compared to last year," Behl said.
New Launches Help Sustain Momentum
Despite the slowdown, the company has sustained sales momentum through its new product launches, including the all-new Amaze and special editions like Elevate Black and City Apex. These models have received a positive market response, helping HCIL maintain its presence during this tough period.Optimism for the Future
Looking ahead, Behl expressed optimism about government-driven incentives outlined in the Union Budget 2026, which he believes will help boost overall consumer demand.
