Hospital Attack: Journalists Targeted by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.webp

Salem (Tamil Nadu), February 13 Television journalists were attacked by a few members of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) near a hospital where a man who attended a meeting with party chief Vijay died earlier on Friday, police said.

The journalists, who were waiting at the hospital, sought clarification from a senior member of the TVK about the death of Suraj, who was from Maharashtra, and also inquired whether he had been provided with an entry pass containing a QR code.

However, a few TVK members accompanying the district functionary asked the TV crew not to take any pictures and roughed them up. This led to an argument between the journalists and the TVK members, police said.

Police who arrived at the scene managed to pacify both groups.

Suraj, who had fainted at the rally venue before Vijay arrived, was rushed to a hospital, and doctors declared him dead on arrival, police said.
