Hamirpur (HP), February 11 An email threatening to bomb the district court complex here triggered alarm on Wednesday morning, although the administration later termed it a hoax and allowed the proceedings to continue uninterrupted, officials said.
The officials did not consider it necessary to evacuate the premises or conduct a search operation this time, considering the nature of the email.
However, police personnel were deployed across the court premises as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order and ensure security, an official spokesperson said.
The district court had received similar threats last month, prompting the evacuation of the premises, and a comprehensive search was conducted at that time.
Police are currently investigating the source of the email to determine who is behind the mischief.
Following a bomb threat at the High Court on January 8, officials noted that such emails have become a routine disruption.
Last year, several such emails targeting courts, hospitals, schools, and administrative offices were received in the state, most of which later turned out to be hoaxes.
