Sambhal (UP), Feb 2 (PTI): In a decisive move against encroachment, the district administration of Sambhal removed an illegally constructed mausoleum ('mazar') from a government pond in Chandausi tehsil on Sunday. Officials confirmed that the encroachment had been cleared, paving the way for potential beautification of the site.
Tehsildar of Chandausi, Dhirendra Singh, stated that the action was initiated following a complaint to the district magistrate. The complaint alleged that a ‘mazar’ had been built on the government-owned pond at the border of Mai and Chandausi villages, with further claims that certain rituals, including "black magic," were being performed at the site on specific days.
Upon investigation, an administrative team confirmed that the mausoleum was being wrongfully used for religious purposes. Acting swiftly, the authorities dismantled the illegal structure. Singh further mentioned that a proposal for the beautification of the pond would now be submitted to the district magistrate.
The removal of the encroachment underscores the administration’s commitment to preserving public land and ensuring its proper utilization.
