Colombo, April 5 — In a historic move, India and Sri Lanka signed a landmark defence cooperation agreement on Saturday, marking a new chapter in bilateral ties. This is the first time such a pact has been formalised between the two nations.
The agreement was signed following comprehensive talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo.

In a significant boost to renewable energy cooperation, PM Modi and President Dissanayake jointly inaugurated the Sampur solar power project via video conferencing.
