Leaders of All Faiths Unite to Emphasize India's Pluralistic Strength
New Delhi, May 10 — Emphasizing India's unity in diversity, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena asserted on Saturday that the country cannot be divided on religious lines and highlighted the strength of its pluralistic identity.Saxena was speaking at the 'Sarva Dharam Sabha', an interfaith gathering held at Raj Niwas, Delhi. The event witnessed the presence of spiritual leaders from various religions alongside senior government officials and key representatives of the Delhi administration.
“This country has a specialty — every religion has not only survived here but thrived,” said Saxena, underlining India's long-standing tradition of religious harmony and coexistence.
Tribute to the Armed Forces and National Leadership
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, while addressing the gathering, invoked the recent terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 innocent citizens. She expressed gratitude towards the Indian Armed Forces and top national leaders for their swift action.“When our 26 innocent people were brutally killed by terrorists last month, every Indian wanted justice. I thank the armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh,” Gupta stated.
