February 14, New Delhi: India is hosting the India A.I. Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from February 16th to 20th. The Summit is based on three key principles – People, Planet, and Progress – which define India's approach to global cooperation on A.I. (Sutra is a Sanskrit term for a rule or formula.)
The event will bring together global leaders, policymakers, innovators, and experts to discuss the future of A.I. At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, heads of state and ministerial delegations from 20 countries, as well as 45 others, will participate.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, along with officials from other international organizations, will also participate in the discussions. The Summit is being positioned as the first major global A.I. gathering in the Global South.
The Summit comes at a time when global A.I. ecosystems are undergoing a major transformation. While large language models have shown rapid progress, policymakers and experts emphasize the need for stronger data governance, diversified A.I. architectures, and sector-specific implementations.
