New Delhi, February 8 Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated his Japanese counterpart, Sanae Takaichi, on her "historic victory" in the elections to the House of Representatives on Sunday.
The ruling coalition led by Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi's Liberal Democratic Party is almost certain to win a single-party majority in the parliamentary elections on Sunday.
"Congratulations, Sanae Takaichi, on your historic victory in the elections to the House of Representatives," Modi said in a post on X.
The Prime Minister stated that the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership plays a vital role in enhancing global peace, stability, and prosperity.
"I am confident that under your capable leadership, we will continue to strengthen the India-Japan friendship," Modi said.
