No Scheduled DGMO Talks as Ceasefire Holds Steady
Srinagar, May 18 – The ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, initiated on May 12, will continue indefinitely, according to an Indian Army official. Clarifying reports that the ceasefire might conclude on Sunday, the official affirmed that there is no set end date to the ongoing suspension of hostilities."As far as the continuation of break in hostilities as decided during the interaction of the DGMOs (Director General of Military Operations) is concerned, there is no expiry date to it," the official stated, dispelling speculation about the agreement being temporary.
He further confirmed that no fresh talks were scheduled between the DGMOs of both nations on Sunday, underscoring the stability of the current ceasefire understanding.
The ceasefire has contributed to maintaining calm along the Line of Control, bringing relief to residents in the border areas.
