India-Pakistan DGMO-Level Talks Rescheduled Amid Operation Sindoor Retaliations

India-Pakistan DGMO-Level Talks Rescheduled Amid Operation Sindoor Retaliations.webp

New Delhi, May 12 – A crucial conversation between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, originally scheduled for 12 noon on Monday, has been deferred to later in the evening, according to official sources. The reason behind the postponement has not been disclosed.

The DGMO-level talks, conducted via a secured hotline, come at a time of heightened military tension in the region. On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor, a large-scale offensive targeting nine terror infrastructures located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This was in direct retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack, which triggered a series of countermeasures under the same operation.

Sources indicated that all retaliatory actions taken by India in recent days have been conducted as part of Operation Sindoor, underlining the strategic response to cross-border hostilities.

In a significant development on Saturday, both India and Pakistan announced a mutual understanding to cease all military operations across land, air, and sea with immediate effect. This agreement marks a potential step toward de-escalation amid the latest series of confrontations.

The outcome of Monday’s rescheduled DGMO dialogue is expected to be closely watched as both nations navigate a fragile ceasefire understanding in a volatile security environment.
