New Delhi, May 11 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting on Sunday with key government officials, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, to address the ongoing tensions with Pakistan. The meeting was held just one day after India and Pakistan reached an understanding to halt military actions along their shared border.
Attending the meeting were top military officials, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the heads of all three Indian armed services.
India Raises Concerns Over Pakistan's Violations
While the meeting sought to address the prevailing security situation, India voiced strong concerns over Pakistan's alleged violation of the terms of the ceasefire understanding. On Saturday night, India accused Pakistan of breaching the agreement and called on its neighbor to take "appropriate steps" to rectify the situation. Indian officials stressed the need for Pakistan to handle the matter with "seriousness and responsibility."Tensions Subside, but Apprehension Persists
Although tensions between the two nations have cooled following the high-level talks, residents in several border areas remain on edge after days of cross-border shelling and drone incidents.
