India is set to host its inaugural World Para Athletics Grand Prix in New Delhi, featuring para-athletes from over 20 countries competing in 90 events across three days, from March 11 to March 13, 2025. The landmark sporting event will take place at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Athletes from countries including Germany, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, among others, are set to participate in the Grand Prix. This extensive international participation underscores India's growing prominence in the global para-athletics arena.
Highlighting the event's significance, prominent international sports officials such as Majid Rashed, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), and Tarek Souei, CEO of the Asian Paralympic Committee, will attend the Grand Prix.
Expressing pride and optimism about hosting the event, Paralympic Committee of India President Devendra Jhajharia said, "Hosting the Grand Prix in India is a testament to our nation's dedication to para-sports. This event is not just about competition; it’s about setting a precedent for future international tournaments in the country."
