New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – India is positioning itself as a major driver of global economic growth, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and green energy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asserted on Monday.
In a press briefing just ahead of the 16th Finance Commission meeting in New Delhi, Naidu highlighted the significant global interest in India’s growth trajectory, as discussed at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
“India is the pulling factor for global economic growth,” Naidu remarked, emphasizing the country's pivotal role in shaping the future of both the technological and environmental sectors.
Drawing parallels with the IT revolution of 1995, Naidu pointed out that AI has emerged as the defining technological frontier of 2025, similar to how information technology transformed the global economy three decades ago. "In 1995, it was information technology, and in 2025 it is AI. I was part of that transformation, and I am still in a position of influence today," he said.
Naidu further underscored that two major themes dominated the discussions at Davos this year: the rise of AI and the emphasis on green energy, particularly green hydrogen production. The Andhra CM emphasized the global push to combat climate change through innovative green energy solutions, which could revolutionize industries and reduce global warming.
Having played a crucial role in India's IT revolution, Naidu expressed strong confidence in India's emerging competitive advantage in the AI sector. He noted that global leaders at Davos are increasingly turning their attention to emerging economies, with India’s technological advancements and environmental initiatives receiving significant attention.
