Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran stated today that India can lead globally by aligning AI adoption with mass employability through educational reforms. Mr. Nageswaran made these remarks during the "Future of Employability and AI" session at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. He said that India could become one of the largest societies where machine learning and human resources complement each other rather than conflict. He asserted that this change will not happen by chance but will require political will, state capacity, and national commitment to align technological adoption with mass employability.

He also emphasized the importance of a joint effort, including the private sector, academics, and policymakers. Chief Economic Advisor also highlighted the importance of change and reform in education, pedagogy, and the delivery of foundational skills. CEO of EdgeVerve Sateesh Seetharamiah said that AI will act as a faster capability multiplier, and lifelong learning will be the core mantra to overcome the challenges posed by AI. He added that AI has generated more productivity for businesses, and ultimately, there must be a human being responsible for overseeing the tasks being performed.
