February 11, New Delhi – Following Operation Sindoor, the Indian Air Force is poised to send a clear message across the western front. Exercise Vayu Shakti 2026, the premier firepower demonstration, is scheduled for February 27. Over 100 aircraft, including 77 fighter jets and 43 helicopters armed with lethal weapons, are set to showcase their capabilities in the deserts of Rajasthan at the Pokhran Field Firing Range. Terrorism will not be tolerated; the message is very clear. This will not be limited to the Air Force. The Indian Army will also demonstrate its firepower, including L-70 guns. "The IAF is looking forward to inducting many more advanced fighter jets – the sooner, the better," says Vice Chief Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor. The entire purpose of this demonstration is to showcase the firepower of the Indian Air Force and its battle-ready preparedness to the world. Representatives from friendly foreign countries will also witness the event. This massive day-and-night exercise, held every three years, serves as a showcase of the IAF's offensive and defensive capabilities, focusing on precision strikes and operational readiness in a simulated war environment.
