Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar stated that the state government is preparing to inaugurate several urban development projects after the current financial year, as many projects are nearing completion. Speaking to the media, Dhar informed that multiple infrastructure projects, including those related to schools and civic amenities, are in their final stages. He said that the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) project is expected to be ready for inauguration by May or June. In addition, water supply schemes and other infrastructure initiatives are progressing steadily across the state. Regarding parking infrastructure, the Deputy Chief Minister said that a multi-level parking project has already been inaugurated, while more such facilities are under development and likely to be opened in the coming months. Clarifying queries on the project located opposite Ward’s Lake, Dhar said that it does not fall under the Urban Development Department and is likely under the Tourism Department, advising the media to seek details from the concerned department.
