Jammu, Feb 2 (PTI) – In a significant move towards the development of football in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) has joined hands with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) to launch an advanced refresher coaching course in the region. This initiative marks the first-ever international football coaching and life skills program in J&K, providing 35 local coaches with a unique opportunity to participate in the prestigious KNVB World Coaches Program.
The five-day course, which commenced on Saturday at the Mini Stadium Parade in Jammu, is being led by seasoned Dutch instructors Roger Schouwenaar and Raimond Massop. Both instructors hold UEFA-A Coaching Licenses and bring over two decades of global coaching experience across more than 40 countries.
"This initiative is a game-changer for football coaching in Jammu and Kashmir. We anticipate more such collaborations between the Dutch Football Federation and the J&K Government to sustain and expand these exchange programs," said Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of the J&K Sports Council.
Expressing her gratitude to the Dutch instructors, Gul highlighted that the latest methodologies and philosophies introduced through the program would significantly benefit J&K’s athletes.
