Incident Shocks Kardhani Community
In a harrowing incident that unfolded on Monday evening in Jaipur’s Kardhani area, a 36-year-old man named Pankaj Kumawat took the lives of his pregnant wife and aunt before committing suicide. The tragedy has left the local community deeply disturbed.
Fatal Attack with Hammer
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Sawai Singh, the incident occurred when Kumawat struck his 33-year-old wife, Sunita, on the head with a hammer. When his aunt Madhu, aged 55, attempted to intervene, Kumawat attacked her as well. Both women succumbed to their injuries instantly.
Son Escapes and Alerts Neighbours
Kumawat also attempted to harm his 9-year-old son, Yash, but the child managed to escape unharmed. Yash, along with his cousin Himank, quickly ran outside and alerted neighbours to the unfolding horror inside their home.
Culprit Commits Suicide
As neighbours rushed to help, Kumawat locked himself inside a room and hanged himself, bringing the tragic sequence of events to an end.
Financial Distress Led to Extreme Step
Preliminary police investigations indicate that Kumawat's actions were driven by severe financial distress faced by the family. SHO Sawai Singh confirmed that the family's deteriorating financial condition appeared to be the primary motive behind Kumawat's drastic and fatal actions.
Bodies Sent for Post-mortem Examination
The bodies of Sunita, Madhu, and Kumawat have been sent for post-mortem examinations, and further investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing.
