Jammu and Kashmir MP Engineer Rashid Seeks Interim Bail to Attend Parliament Session Amid Terror Funding Allegations

New Delhi, March 3: Jammu and Kashmir Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid has approached a Delhi court seeking interim bail in connection with an alleged terror funding case, citing the need to attend the upcoming Parliament session.

On Monday, Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to submit its response by March 5.

Engineer Rashid filed his interim bail plea on February 27, arguing that his presence is essential in Parliament to perform his duties as an elected representative. Rashid’s regular bail application, meanwhile, remains pending in the same court.

The second phase of Parliament's Budget session is scheduled to begin on March 10 and will conclude on April 4.
