New Delhi, Feb 28 – The Janata Dal (United) has launched a sharp counterattack against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leader Tejashwi Yadav, asserting that the party will secure so few seats in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections that Yadav may not even retain the status of Leader of Opposition.

The remarks come in response to Tejashwi Yadav’s recent comments on the Bihar Cabinet expansion. Following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s induction of seven new ministers from the BJP quota into his government, Yadav had remarked on Thursday that the expansion would have no significant impact, claiming that this term would be the ruling coalition’s last in power.

JD(U) Counters with Sharp Criticism

JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad dismissed Yadav’s claims, stating that the people of Bihar would not be misled by the opposition’s rhetoric. He accused the RJD of pushing Bihar into turmoil during the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, alleging that their governance was marked by "jungle raj," rampant lawlessness, caste-based violence, and kidnappings for ransom.

Prasad further asserted that Nitish Kumar has significantly improved Bihar’s standing in terms of governance, law and order, and socio-economic development. He credited the Chief Minister with restoring peace and stability while uplifting marginalized communities, including youth, women, Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

Bihar’s Political Battle Intensifies

Calling the RJD a "dynastic party," Prasad warned that the people of Bihar would reject its leadership in the upcoming assembly elections. "People know the truth about RJD and will not be deceived by their false claims. They will deliver a political verdict against them," he stated.

As Bihar heads toward crucial assembly polls later this year, the war of words between the ruling JD(U)-BJP alliance and the opposition RJD is expected to escalate.
