Jet Fuel Price Slashed by 6.1%, Commercial LPG Also Sees Price Cut in April Revision

New Delhi, April 1 — In a significant relief for the aviation and hospitality sectors, the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and commercial LPG cylinders have been reduced sharply in the latest monthly revision, aligning with international benchmarks.

ATF Price Reduced by Over ₹5,800 per Kilolitre​

State-run oil marketing companies have slashed the price of jet fuel by ₹5,870.54 per kilolitre — a 6.15% reduction — bringing the ATF rate in Delhi down to ₹89,441.18 per kilolitre. This marks a reversal of the price hikes that were implemented since February.

The updated ATF rates across major metros are as follows:

• Mumbai: ₹83,575.42 per kilolitre
• Chennai: ₹92,503.80 per kilolitre
• Kolkata: ₹91,921 per kilolitre

Commercial LPG Prices Cut by ₹42​

The price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders — commonly used in hotels and restaurants — has been reduced by ₹42 in Delhi, now costing ₹1,762 per cylinder. This adjustment follows a minor hike of ₹6 implemented on March 1.

Updated commercial LPG prices in other major cities include:

• Mumbai: ₹1,713.50
• Kolkata: ₹1,868.50
• Chennai: ₹1,921.50

No Change in Domestic LPG Rates​

Despite the reductions in ATF and commercial LPG, the price of domestic LPG used in households remains unchanged at ₹803 for a 14.2-kg cylinder.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Remain Steady​

Petrol and diesel prices have been frozen since a ₹2 per litre cut in mid-March last year ahead of general elections. The current rates stand at:

• Petrol in Delhi: ₹94.72 per litre
• Diesel in Delhi: ₹87.62 per litre

Price Revisions Based on Global Trends​

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) adjust fuel prices on the first of every month. These revisions are based on the average international benchmark fuel prices and prevailing foreign exchange rates.
