New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – Jewar International Airport is on track to become the largest airport in Asia, with regular operations set to commence in April, Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu announced in the Rajya Sabha.
During a parliamentary session, the minister highlighted the enthusiasm among airlines eager to start operations at the Noida International Airport, enhancing global connectivity.
"Jewar Airport is emerging as the biggest airport in both the country and Asia. A validation flight was successfully conducted in December, and everything is progressing as per schedule. By April, we will witness the commencement of regular operations," Naidu stated.
Airlines including Air India and IndiGo have shown keen interest in expanding their networks through the new airport, he noted. The airport's strategic location near the Noida Expressway will further boost road connectivity, ensuring seamless travel for passengers.
Addressing a query regarding Kushinagar Airport, the minister assured that efforts are underway to launch operations soon.
With Jewar Airport poised to become a key aviation hub, its launch is expected to significantly boost infrastructure, connectivity, and economic growth in the region.
