
Ranchi, February 16 Three members of a gang have been arrested in Ranchi, and firearms and ammunition were seized from their possession, police said.
The arrests were made in the Jharkhand capital on Sunday, based on information that some associates of the Rahul Singh gang had gathered in the Jagannathpur area near Birsa Munda Airport to exchange firearms and ammunition.
"Two members of the Rahul Singh gang were arrested, and based on information provided by them, another gangster was apprehended. A locally made pistol, two magazines, 15 cartridges, and four mobile phones were also seized," said Superintendent of Police (City) Paras Rana.
Two of the arrested gangsters are from Ranchi, while one is from the neighboring Ramgarh district. The police said the gang is mainly involved in extorting businessmen.
An FIR has been lodged at the Jagannathpur police station, and all three accused have been sent to judicial custody.
