Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Orders Heightened Security Measures Amid National Tensions
Calls for crackdown on rumour mongers and civil defence activation across the state
Ranchi, May 10 – Amid heightened security concerns nationwide, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday directed state officials to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of every resident. Emphasizing the need for vigilance and firm action, he instructed authorities to act swiftly against those spreading misinformation or engaging in activities against national interest.Chairing a high-level meeting with administrative and police officials, Soren said, “Identify and take legal action against those involved in anti-national activities and sharing wrong information on social media platforms. Ensure strict action against rumour mongers.”
He underscored that safeguarding the lives of Jharkhand’s people is a top priority in light of the current national situation. The Chief Minister instructed the activation of Civil Defence Volunteers throughout the state and called for a scale-up in their deployment as needed.
Additionally, Soren ordered the immediate activation of control rooms at both the state and district levels. He also directed that a red cross sign be prominently displayed on the rooftops of all hospitals to ensure their identification and protection.
These measures come as part of a broader effort to maintain order and preparedness across the state during a period of heightened alert.
