Ranchi, March 3 – The Jharkhand government tabled a budget of Rs 1.45 lakh crore for the 2025-26 financial year in the state assembly on Monday. The announcement was made by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, who emphasized that the budget aims to cater to the diverse needs of the state's population.
"This budget of Rs 1.45 lakh crore for the 2025-26 financial year is presented to meet the aspirations of every section of society, including the poor, farmers, tribals, and women," Kishore stated in the assembly.
The budget marks the first financial plan under the Hemant Soren-led government after it successfully retained power in last year's assembly elections. In comparison, the previous fiscal year (2024-25) saw a budget of Rs 1.28 lakh crore, highlighting a notable increase in allocation for the coming year.
The government's focus is expected to strengthen its developmental programs, with particular emphasis on social welfare and economic growth in key sectors. The budget is seen as a step toward fulfilling the promises made by the government during its election campaign.
