JMM MP Mahua Maji injured while returning from Maha Kumbh after her car hit truck

Latehar/Ranchi, February 26: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji sustained injuries after her car collided with a stationary truck on National Highway 75 near Hotwag village in Latehar district during the early hours of Wednesday.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 2:30 am while Maji returned to Ranchi from Prayagraj after attending the Maha Kumbh. The Rajya Sabha MP suffered a fracture in her left wrist and was initially taken to Sadar Hospital for first-aid before being shifted to a private hospital in Ranchi for advanced medical care.

Her son and daughter-in-law, who were traveling with her, sustained minor injuries.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed concern and extended his wishes for Maji’s speedy recovery. "Honourable Rajya Sabha MP and senior JMM leader Mahua Maji ji and her family members have been reported injured in a road accident. I wish for their speedy recovery," he posted on X. Later, Soren, accompanied by his legislator wife Kalpana Soren, visited the hospital to check Maji's condition.

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, who also met Maji, assured that she is out of danger despite suffering fractures. "She is fine. Doctors said she will recover completely," he stated.

State Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore further confirmed that her condition is stable, reiterating that while she has suffered fractures, there is no cause for significant concern.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
