Mumbai, February 27 – Bollywood actor and producer John Abraham has confirmed that his long-awaited sports drama 1911 has been temporarily put on hold. The film, which was set to chronicle Mohun Bagan’s historic victory in the 1911 IFA Shield Final, was initially to be helmed by Shoojit Sircar and later by Nikkhil Advani.
The movie was expected to showcase a defining moment in Indian sports history, focusing on legendary footballer Sibdas Bhaduri, a role that Abraham was set to portray. However, despite multiple developments over the years, the project remains stalled.
"Unfortunately, that film's not happening because we've been through a lot of processes, and while the idea sounds good, we've seen many football-based films already. But do we want to make it? Yes, in the future. We've parked that for now," Abraham said.
