New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – BJP national president JP Nadda on Monday launched a fierce attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), framing the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections as a fight for the capital’s future and a step towards a “Viksit Delhi”.
Speaking at a public rally in Burari, Nadda exuded confidence in the growing public discontent against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, predicting a decisive shift in the city's political landscape.
Nadda Predicts Kejriwal’s Downfall
"The enthusiasm I witness here signals that Kejriwal’s journey will come to a standstill on February 5," Nadda told the crowd, urging voters to rally behind the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).He emphasized that the election was beyond party symbols, stating, "This is not just about the BJP’s lotus or any other party’s symbol. It is about changing Delhi’s fate and image."
Accusing the AAP government of stalling development, Nadda said it was time for Delhi to move forward towards progress under BJP’s governance.
AAP Government a ‘Lying Machine’ and ‘Corrupt Encyclopedia’
Nadda strongly criticized AAP’s governance style, alleging that their routine revolved around press conferences and targeting the Modi government instead of addressing real issues."Every morning, they wake up, hold a press conference, abuse Modi Ji, criticize the Centre, and make baseless allegations to cover their failures. Kejriwal has been doing this for ten years," he remarked.
Labeling AAP as a "lying machine" and an "encyclopedia of corruption and deceit," Nadda accused the party of misleading the public while indulging in scams.
"Those who once called themselves ‘kattar imaandar’ (staunchly honest) are now ‘kattar bhrashtachari’ (staunchly corrupt). Their chief minister is out on bail, their deputy CM is out on bail, and their ministers have spent time behind bars," he said, asserting that AAP leaders had not been cleared of charges but remained guilty.
Scam Allegations Against AAP
Nadda further alleged multiple scams under AAP’s tenure, highlighting:- ₹2,800 crore liquor scam
- ₹1,300 crore school building scam
- ₹65,000 crore fake medical test scam linked to Mohalla Clinics
Education and Infrastructure Neglect
Turning his attention to Delhi’s education system, Nadda criticized AAP’s policies, particularly its alleged neglect of science education in Classes 10 and 11."Do you want such an education system to continue?" he asked the crowd, urging them to vote for change.
Nadda assured that Delhi would receive 2,600 new electric buses before 2026 and promised pucca houses for slum dwellers without demolitions.
Yamuna Cleaning Fund Mismanagement
Attacking the AAP government’s handling of Yamuna River cleaning, Nadda accused them of misusing ₹8,000 crore, failing to deliver results, and shifting the blame onto Haryana."Did you get clean water in the Yamuna? They gobbled up the money and then blamed the Haryana government," he claimed.
