Kalaburagi, Karnataka – In a tragic road accident in the early hours of Saturday, five people, including a 13-year-old girl, lost their lives and 11 others sustained injuries after a mini bus collided with a stationary truck near Nelogi Cross in Jewargi taluk of Kalaburagi district.According to the police, the incident occurred around 3:30 AM when the mini bus, carrying a group of devotees from Bagalkote to a dargah in Kalaburagi, rammed into a parked truck on the roadside. The truck had reportedly stopped due to a punctured tyre, and the driver was in the process of fixing it.
Driver Suspected to Have Fallen Asleep
A preliminary investigation suggests that the mini bus driver may have dozed off while driving at high speed, resulting in the vehicle crashing into the truck from behind.
