Thane, May 11 — A female teacher from Maharashtra’s Thane district lost her life in a tragic accident while on a school trip to Bali, Indonesia. The incident occurred on Saturday, the B K Birla Public School in Kalyan confirmed on Sunday.


The deceased, Shweta Pushkar Pathak, was accompanying students on an educational tour when the fatal accident occurred. School authorities are actively working with local officials in Bali to complete the necessary formalities and arrange the repatriation of her body to India.

"It is with deep sorrow and heavy heart that we inform our school community of the untimely and tragic demise of our beloved colleague, Ms Shweta Pushkar Pathak, in an unfortunate accident during a trip at Bali," the school stated in an official message on its website.

Remembered fondly by staff and students alike, Pathak was praised not only for her commitment to teaching but also for the warmth and positivity she brought to the school environment.

“She was more than an educator. She was a guiding light to her students, a supportive colleague, and a kind-hearted soul. Her passion for teaching and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on our hearts,” the message read.

School Principal Ranjna Jangra, along with Pathak’s husband, is currently in Bali coordinating with local authorities to ensure a smooth return of the body to India.
