Udupi, Karnataka, May 12 – Popular Kannada television actor and comedian Rakesh Poojary passed away late Sunday night due to a sudden cardiac arrest during a pre-wedding ceremony in Nitte near Udupi. He was 34.

According to family sources, Poojary collapsed while attending a mehendi function and was declared dead shortly thereafter.

A native of Karkala in Udupi district, Rakesh Poojary was the son of Dinkar Poojary and Shambhavi. He rose to fame after winning Season 3 of the reality show Comedy Kiladigalu and was known for his impactful roles in Kannada television, particularly in the serial Hitler Kalyana. He also featured in several other TV and film projects, building a loyal fanbase with his comic timing and screen presence.

The news of his sudden and untimely demise has left the Kannada television and film industry in shock. Tributes and condolences have poured in from fellow actors, colleagues, and fans, mourning the loss of a beloved entertainer.

Poojary’s last rites will be conducted in his hometown of Karkala, the family confirmed.
