Chamarajanagar, Karnataka – March 1, 2025: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of five pilgrims heading to the renowned Male Madeshwara temple in Chamarajanagar district on Saturday. According to local police, the incident occurred when the car carrying the pilgrims collided head-on with a truck.
The fatal accident took place at Chikkindumadi village, located within Kollegal Taluk. The pilgrims were travelling to participate in the grand Maha Shivaratri celebrations at the temple, situated atop a hill.
Police officials have confirmed that the bodies of the victims have been transferred to a nearby hospital for autopsies. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
