Bengaluru, May 15 — In a major crackdown on corruption, Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Thursday carried out simultaneous raids at 40 locations linked to seven government officials in connection with disproportionate assets cases.
Raids Target Multiple Departments Across Districts
The coordinated operation was conducted at residences and premises associated with the following government officials:- Rajashekar, Project Director, Nirmiti Kendra, Tumakuru
- Manjunath, Survey Supervisor, Dakshina Kannada district
- Renuka Satarle, Officer, Dr B R Ambedkar Abhivrudhi Nigama, Vijayapura
- Murali T V, Additional Director, Directorate of Urban and Rural Planning, Bengaluru Urban
- H R Nataraj, Inspector, Legal Metrology, Bengaluru City
- Anant Kumar, Second Division Assistant, Hoskote Taluk Office, Bengaluru Rural
- Umakanth, Officer, Shahpur Taluk Office, Yadgiri
Seizures Include Cash, Gold, and High-End Vehicles
According to Lokayukta sources, the raids led to the seizure of substantial quantities of unaccounted cash, gold ornaments, high-end vehicles, and a large volume of documents relating to immovable properties. The evidence collected is expected to play a crucial role in ongoing investigations into illegal wealth accumulation by public servants.The Lokayukta has intensified efforts to root out corruption and hold government officials accountable for amassing assets beyond their known sources of income.
