A tragic road accident in Kerala's Kasaragod district claimed the lives of three individuals and left another critically injured after their car struck a divider and overturned near a check post, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The fatal accident took place at approximately 10:45 PM on Monday in Vamanjoor, close to Manjeshwar in the northern part of the state. According to local police officials, the deceased have been identified as Kishan Kumar, Janardhanan, and Arun.
A fourth occupant, identified as Rathan from Uppinangady in Karnataka, sustained severe injuries in the crash. He was promptly transferred to a hospital in Mangaluru, Karnataka, where he remains in critical condition, police added.
The bodies of the deceased victims have been transported to a nearby hospital, awaiting further procedures.
Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
