New Delhi, February 9 Members of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha staged a walkout from the House on Monday, protesting the denial of the right to speak to Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress member Kharge rose during Question Hour to say that Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, was not allowed to speak on the Motion of Thanks.
Chairman C P Radhakrishnan, however, did not allow him to raise the issue concerning the Lok Sabha and stated, "Nothing he says will be recorded."
Earlier, Kharge had raised the issue of Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal making a statement outside the House last week regarding the India-US trade deal, while Parliament was in session.
As Chairman Radhakrishnan did not allow Kharge to speak, members of the entire opposition were on their feet, protesting.
As Chairman Radhakrishnan proceeded with Question Hour, the opposition members continued their protest and later staged a walkout from the House.
