The Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) 2025 are set to begin in Gulmarg from March 9 to 12, following a significant improvement in snowfall across the higher altitudes of Kashmir Valley. Originally scheduled for February 22 to 25, the event had to be delayed due to inadequate snowfall, as the region experienced one of its driest winters in recent memory.

Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Secretary Nuzhat Gul confirmed the updated schedule, stating, "We are all set to host the Khelo India Winter Games 2025 from March 9 to 12. Top winter sports athletes from across the country are expected to participate in the event."

This will mark the second leg of the Khelo India Winter Games, featuring competitive events in skiing and snowboarding. Earlier this year, the first leg of the games was successfully held in Leh district of Ladakh during January, where athletes showcased their talents in ice-skating and ice-hockey competitions.

The fresh snowfall in Gulmarg has provided ideal conditions, promising an exciting sporting atmosphere and drawing participation from premier winter sports athletes nationwide.
