
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla chairs meeting at Gulmarg to finalize arrangements for the 6th edition of Khelo India Winter Games scheduled from February 23 to 26.
February 12 Srinagar: A preparatory meeting for the 6th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games 2026 was held at the famous ski resort of Gulmarg to review arrangements for the upcoming national-level sporting event. The games are scheduled to begin on February 23 and will conclude on February 26. Athletes from different states of the country are expected to arrive on February 21 and 22.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired the meeting, which was attended by officers of various departments of Sub-Division Gulmarg. Joint Director Tourism Jammu and Kashmir, Waseem Raja; Assistant Director Tourism Gulmarg, Tahir Mohidin Wani; and CEO Gulmarg Development Authority, Tariq Hussain Naik, were also present.
During the meeting, officers were instructed to ensure proper arrangements for accommodation of athletes and guests arriving in Gulmarg. Detailed discussions were held regarding electricity supply, food arrangements and transport facilities to ensure smooth conduct of the games.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla said that all necessary arrangements, including transport and accommodation for athletes and guests, have been finalized. He added that all ski slopes are fully prepared for the competitions.
He also appealed to athletes, local residents and stakeholders visiting Gulmarg to maintain cleanliness and help preserve the scenic beauty of the tourist destination during the event.
