
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 12: The second day of the Agriculture Summit and Kisan Mela–2026 at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) featured an Industry–Academia–Farmer Meet and a dog show, attracting widespread participation.
Over 30 industries, agricultural startups, and FPOs participated in the interaction at the Main Campus, Chatha. Vice-Chancellor Prof B.N. Tripathi emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between industry and academia, citing initiatives such as MoUs, internships, and the Bayer Learning Centre to enhance employability and innovation.
Guest of Honour Dr Owais Ahmad stressed the importance of structured internships and industry engagement for graduates ready for employment. Technical sessions focused on bridging the gap between industry and academia through research and stakeholder collaboration.
The Agrometeorology Section organized a farmer awareness program under Grameen Krishi Mausam Sewa, with over 100 farmers participating. As many as 210 mango and citrus plants were distributed. Sports and recreational events added to the festive atmosphere.
