
Kota, February 13 A 37-year-old member of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), stationed here, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his government quarters near the Dadabari police station on Thursday night, an official said.
The exact reason for this extreme act remains unclear.
The deceased, identified as Constable Premshankar Mahawar (37), was from the Bundi district and was stationed in the STF-RAC battalion in Kota.
According to officials, Mahawar returned to his government quarters on Thursday evening after work.
Around 8 pm, his wife, who was cooking in the kitchen, found him hanging from a ceiling fan in his room.
Family members and neighbors rushed Mahawar to the New Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, Dadabari Station House Officer Baldevram said.
No suicide note was found at the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the reason for this extreme act, he added.
The police have handed over the body to the family after a post-mortem examination by a medical board, and a case has been registered under relevant sections, the SHO said.
