Hyderabad, Feb 27: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for failing to visit the SLBC tunnel collapse site in Nagarkurnool district, where eight individuals have remained trapped since February 22.

Rescue operations involving the Army, Navy, Rat Miners, and NDRF teams are ongoing to save the trapped workers.

Condemning the government's handling of the crisis, KTR accused the administration of acting recklessly. "They have gone in blindly without consulting the Geological Survey of India (GSI) or engineering experts. As a result, we have risked the lives of eight people. Nobody knows if they are alive or dead, yet the chief minister is busy with election campaigns and trips to Delhi. He hasn’t even visited the site, which shows his lack of sincerity," KTR stated.

In response, Telangana Congress President B Mahesh Kumar Goud defended the CM, asserting that Revanth Reddy has been actively monitoring the situation since the incident unfolded.

"The Chief Minister promptly deployed two ministers to oversee the rescue operations and has consistently tracked developments. Experts from other states and even foreign specialists have been brought in to facilitate the rescue efforts," Goud explained.

KTR has also demanded a judicial inquiry into the collapse, conducted by a sitting or retired judge, and called for strict action against those responsible. Additionally, he accused the current administration of shifting blame onto the previous regime rather than addressing the crisis effectively.

Rescue operations are still underway as authorities continue to bring the trapped individuals to safety.
